How to Use Normal Pass
Hi Everyone
I have seen pplz using normal pass to control their lighting in post i tried to google alot how to composite this pass in afterfx or in photoshop but i couldnt find how to use it to control the lighting of the scene kindly help me out |

You will need to tell us which 3D program you are using.
I.E. 3dsmax, maya, etc You use a normal pass in one of these program to give detail to a low poly model. You don't use use it in AfterFX or Photoshop. |

Iam Using 3ds Max / Vray for rendering NORMAL PASS
I HAVE ADOBE PHOTOSHOP AND AFTERFX now what to do ?? And I am Not talking about Normal map .... for displace I am talking about NORMAL PASS RENDER ELEMENTS > NORMAL PASS Last edited by pleasent; 13-04-2008 at 12:26 PM.. |

I'm not talking about normal maps as such.
You use the normal pass to create a normal map. And as far as I know afterfx and photoshop are 2d programs. They cannot translate the height info from the normal pass. I maybe be wrong but thats how I understand it. |
