This was a personal project of mine, the goal was to create
a photo-realistic image to use as the entrance to my site (meetfeed.com) and as a wallpaper for my computer in the shortest period of time and the least amount of work. Tell me what you think please

Nice, but it looks like a minature for some reason. Maybe you could add something to show scale?

its the DOF that makes it look like miniature, when you take pictures of big things you get more focus.

Nice work. Is it based on an actual bridge?
What software did you use for the background and bridge modelling.

It's all in max 5...
The bridge, i already had from a previous project...i even think i've had it since 3d studio 4 (DOS) dont really remember, but i didn't want to put too many hours on this. the next one i'm building from scratch and i'll have both imaes rotate when someone goes to my website. At least now that one is there and it gives me time to do the next ones

looks ok, but it doesn't look real. I guess it's the DOF like the others said...but I think the hill is too green and the sun is too intense. It seems more like a Sunrise than a Sunset...or is it a sunrise?
Did you use a photo reference? Does the sun really set at that angle behind the Golden Gate Bridge? or rise? I've never seen the bridge in person so I have no idea where the sun would be in relation to it.

loboloco --> It's loosely (very very) based on the GoldenGate.
I dont exactly remember the position of the goldengate but i think that if it was the real one, the sun would be setting North on my picture.I agree about the mountain...tis too green .... i also used a clip-art sailboat and that looks cheesy now that i take a second look So far the main responce i got from "non 3d" people is: " nice edited photo". so i guess i succeded half way Thanks for the comments guys ![]()

cool...
I think when photographers take a photo of the sun they use filters that cut down on the flare of the sun...and from looking at sunsets and rises...I think it's going to be more like a red-orange ball and less like a noon-day sun due to refraction. Try that and see how it works. I'd like to see the tweaked image. ![]() it kind of reminds me of a Bob Ross painting for some reason too...though he never really painted any suns I don't think... I think maybe it's the water and hill... ![]()
