Volition, Inc., the studio bringing you the hotly-anticipated Saints Row 2 and Red Faction: Guerrilla titles, has an opening for a Senior Technical Artist on a new, unannounced project.
"Why Should I Apply For This Job?" Thank you for asking. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I get the sense that you love making games, but you don’t JUST love making games. Am I right? You want to build AAA titles alongside creative, maybe a bit quirky but still very talented people who share your interests. But you also want a life outside of work. Does any of this sound familiar? Maybe you want to be able to afford a house; you DEFINITELY want a commute that doesn’t take longer than 15 minutes. You want a life that leaves you time for your other hobbies and interests. You want to be able to spend evenings and weekends with your family and friends. At 6:01 PM on Friday you want to be sitting outside at the bar down the street, frosty beverage in hand, hanging out and people-watching, far from the rigors of 3DS Max and Perforce or whatever tools it is you use. Look: we can give you that. We want you to have that. "What Does This Job Entail?" The Senior Technical Artist will:
Must have in-depth familiarity with 3DS Max or Maya, and be comfortable with MAXScript & Mel. Must have shipped titles. Read the complete list of details here: http://www.volition-inc.com/Jobs/SeniorTechnicalArtist "Volition? That sounds vaguely familiar." I'm sure you've played some of our games, we've been around forever. We began way back in the mid 90s with Descent and Freespace. Then during the PS2/Xbox years we did Red Faction 1 & 2, Summoner 1 & 2, and The Punisher. Saints Row was our first title on the 360, and fairly soon we have Saints Row 2 and Red Faction: Guerrilla coming out. Beyond that we've got some new titles that we are very excited about but sadly unable to talk about here. You know how it is. Volition is located in Champaign, IL, a friendly, progressive university town two hours south of Chicago, where the cost of living is 26% lower than Los Angeles and 45% lower than San Francisco. I'm serious; you kind of have to come out and visit before you can really wrap your head around how much cheaper it is here compared to the coasts. "What If I Need Even More Info?" Visit our website! Find out more about Volition's long history, creative atmosphere, and affordable location. Read some of the employee bios. Although frankly some are a bit on the strange side and after reading them you may not want to work here. So maybe forget I mentioned it. http://www.volition-inc.com/ Thanks for reading all the way down to the bottom. Have a lovely day. Be excellent to each other. \m/ \m/ |
