Another model! A Gee-Bee plane
OK, so I seem to be inspired again, which is good. Also I'm pleased with the way my texturing seems to be improving. Here's my third model this weekend:

Slightly better textures. The model still isn't welded at this point, hence some of the seams.

definately got some character! Reminds me of an old PC game, don't recall the name but must be from 97/98 time.

The cockpit is a little bit too far forward, so it sort of looks more like a Grumman Hellcat from WW2, though there were various different styled Gee-Bees. The body paint is all wrong for a Gee-Bee too as they all had a more-or-less standard two-colour design, but I thought this would be more fun.
Hmmmm, could do a US Navy skin for it I suppose! |

i think checking some good refrence material might help u to make this cartoonish plane much better... and give you ideas on how to get more detail and stuff into it.. |

I don't want it to be exactly like the original as all gee-bees had different colours of this design:
![]() The detail level on the textures is probably good enough if you are only ever going to see it moving - most photos of the plane show that it's really difficult to see the nuts and bolts on these little planes, and most of the time they have been painted to match the colours of the plane anyway so they're not hugely visible. |
