_Guitar Hero/Rock Band_

The idea,
I’m sure everyone has heard of or played the game Guitar Hero and its cousin Rock Band. So for this Animation Challenge, you need to animate a rock star. You can pick anyone from the band to animate, this means, the singer, the guitar player, or the drummer. You can even change it up a bit and animate a DJ mixing music on a turntable. You might want to pick a song to animate to, it will make it much easier for you if your character is following a beat, plus it will give everyone something to listen to. . Have fun with it. If you don’t have a character to animate, you might be able to find one on the net (let us know you didn’t model it).

Rules

- The due date is June 29nd, a Sunday, 12 midnight (GMT). Voting will be on that following week. Post your final entries in the Final Entry Thread.

- Minimum animation: your animation needs to include a minimum of 5 seconds, with or without music, do more if your bored.
-
- Recommended screen resolution in 320x240 (you can do 640x480 if you want, but why would you). I will.

- You can post W.I.P.s but you are only allowed one complete entry. That link is also final. You can and should post your wip’s to get help.

- Websites where you post your finals is up to you.

- Remember, it's about animation, use your time for animation, not to get the best render possible, unless you can afford it.

- Use of plug-ins not allowed. Must be key framed (hand animated)

- Use QuickTime. It will allow everyone to view your hard work, plus it gives everyone the chance to go through your animation frame by frame to see how you did what you did

- You must post a render of some sort with your final entry post; also include a screen grab with key frames.

- Voting will be as follows -

First place (3) points
Second place (2) points
Third place (1) points

Prizes

only available with 6 or more final entries)

Winner gets to choose one of the following options:
- 12-month subscription to the 2DCreative magazine
- 12-month subscription to the 3DCreative magazine

Haha, awesome theme! I love Guitar Hero! I'm in the middle (very close to the end actually :\) of my finals, and not good at animation either but I think I got the perfect (or working at least) solution for anyone who are too lazy/busy to create a model from scratch

Send me a PM if you want him, he's rigged in Maya 2008 so I can't guarantee it will work with previous versions.

Rig shots (IK arms and legs with eye/mouth/jaw/finger controllers, I can elaborate further if anyone wants him)

This seems interesting....i will use my DW3 character and put him to some good use. beats him just sitting in my archive doing nothing. hmmm.....now what song to have em dance to?

plug-ins by the way of anything that will animate for you. Those types of plug-ins are not allowed.

My initial idea is to turn this poor guy into a rock star, when someone puts money in his bag. My biggest challenge with it is probably gunna be the facial expressions to describe his thought process.

Im not too sure about the composition of the shot though...
