Question 3dstudio max 4.0 help

I have a question about the 3d studio max 4.0. I created a line and closed it which created a form of a head and then converted it to a poly mesh and i want to know how to attach lines to give the head more form. then i add vertexes in the head poly mesh how do I make them attach to the head poly and create lines threw the head poly mesh

another words how do i subdivide a poly mesh that i can create lines threw the head poly mesh

thanks

i assume what you did was make a spline cage then surface it and then convert it to edit mesh or poly.

well going back from the converted edit mesh to the surface splines can't be done as far as i know. when i use this technique of modeling i usually make a copy of the surface so i have the source and a converted version so to speak.

as for adding detail you can go back to the original spline cage, if you saved a copy, and add more splines there, or you can just go with the edity poly and associated tools to add detail. read up on edit poly tools in the help file to get a better idea of this.

good luck
