Good work so far Mont'. I always enjoy watching and learning from a good MonteCristo WIP.

great start monte! is good to see a lara with a little more padding, makes it feel more authentic, and also stands out from the crowd. there is so many super model thin female characters and art out there, is refreshing to see a more realistic interpretation. but still keeping the feel of an athletic character. great stuff

God you're good, always a joy to see your work Monty, Lara is looking great, I can only agree with everyone else's comments and very refreshing to see a natural bodied version of Lara as opposed to the earlier unrealistic and way to thin counterparts.
Zbrush work so far is stunning, i'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with her clothing, guns and belt with attatchments etc. Kind Regards CG.

It's funny you know, I spent a while trying to balance this sucker. Smaller waist, more muscularity to the legs and torso, so as to give a more athletic look, and I'm pretty sure I almost went around in a circle. The difference doesn't seem enough now. The boobs feel more realistic to me now. I think the butt needs more tightening too. But this is starting to feel about right I think. Gonna start getting some detail on there now.
Bracer - Thanks my friend, I'm glad you think so. ![]() Gofthick - It's as good an anatomical landmark as any, mate. Sure, back in the day when it was all extruding, insetting and cutting, and would have taken a fair while to add, it may have been OTT, but in Zbrush, it's so quick, it may as well be there to help to inform muscles attachment on the inside thigh. Prude. ![]() Karabo - I definitely want to get a sense of realism to her, but the difficult thing is getting the balance right. The original Lara was of postergirl proportions, so I need to allude to that enough, but at the same time, I don't want to ruin the realism. This is why this stage of things can be so tricky and slow. ![]() Honki - I might have known you'd have noticed. Glad you are enjoying the show. L3XICON - Thanks bro. I appreciate that. ClassicGamer-3DT - Thank you mate. Actually, In some ways I feel like I'm taking a risk by showing her this early into it. Recreating Lara was always going to be a tough sell, but that's the fun right? It's good to see that you and many others can see the angle I'm trying for. Cheers all! Will try to get a better update added soon. |

side view looks good, but front and back..hmmm...her upper thighs are simply too wide.If you stremline from torso to knee it will look better.
Not better in the sence of what I think looks better.but better in the sence of overall proportion.Right now her thighs are overwhelming the rest of the model. |

There's a certain Frazetta-esque feel to this with the big ol' thighs and hooters but I have to agree with brentagain - she's a little over-thighed (i made that up - can you tell).
here's a linky in case you're not familiar with the man and his take on what ladies should look like ( unlikely - but just in case) http://frankfrazetta.org/bw0003.php |

Nice, I think the side view is pretty much spot on. On the front view, I think it might look a bit better if her fins, the bit under the armpit was slightly bigger and the waist, also if the thigh wasn't quite so wide. But I really like your take on this. Already looking better than the orignal lara croft.

this is a tough one, from my eyes, the booty looks great the way it is, and slimming down the thighs may destroy the perfectness that the booty holds as is. I'm thinking the whole thickness that everyone is commenting about may be comming from the perspective view that your wip is at. So before you slenderize the lady, take a good frontal look at her.

Just tossing around ideas, maybe extending the obliques up the torso would balance things out. Something like this:

looks everything good - i would definde the lower abdominal muscles a little bit more but the rest i would leave as it is.
The legs and tights suits her well, since she is a sporty lady that is. great work so far monte. |

I think she will look great with the shorts on.No problem with the thighs there. The only thing I see off right now is the rib cage.No need to sculpt the ribs, but you should make it a tad wider at the bottom IMO.Oh and the arms should probably be longer
