I was also thinking about this too, and in my own opinion perhaps she'd be almost in the build of those kind of people that do the 'free' rock climbing, all of who are quite lean as opposed to having too much bulk so they have the power to weight ratio...almost like a long distance runner in some respects as she needs the stamina. Whereas people who do sprinting are more bulky as its an explosive effort only designed for short bursts. Might be worth looking aroound the web to get some pics of the three as mentioned. Just some thoughts _Jay Last edited by JayEdwards; 17-06-2008 at 07:45 AM.. |

Hey Jango
-Yeah, I wondered about the rock climbing too, and certainly used some refs of these types of characters. However, as you say they are lean, and I think the problem here is Lara typically isn't. As such I looked for other all-rounders, and decided that a Heptahlete (can't believe that's not a real word, when pentathlete is) would also be good. Gymnasts tend to have very bulky legs too, but tend to be lighter up top. Heptatheletes such as Denise Lewis tend to have a more even distribution of bulk.Raja3D - Thank you Raja 3D, I do appreciate the support ![]() BiG ToE-3DT - I think you are right about the bicep. As to the trunk, I don't think I can ever please everyone in that regard. parleee - When I first read about the resemblance, I thought you were mental. But now that I look at it, i think you are right, and I think that the resemblance is the jaw line specifically. It makes sense that there would be common flourishes throughout an artist's work, I guees. But I think in this case, I may have to do some work on the jaw area, as this morning it seems a little recessed to me. |

My opinion on this is Lara was designed to be eye candy so go with whatever you feel that is

Looking good, the hair is particularly well done so far, nice style, the overal physique so far I think is very original while still giving a little nod towards to game. About the arms, I feel that they would be pretty muscular as would the legs, if you think about the kind of activities Ms Croft get's up to in the games there's a hell of alot of climbing, running, dodging etc, all that plus training regimes would give you that physical appearance, so far this is looking excellent, she's beautiful but not too beautiful, she's got that mean look, and she's also got that look that she's experienced alot and doesn't trust very well anymore.
You could consider having her slighlty battleworn, I don't mean huge great scars and deep cuts all over her body, but possibly a tiny bit of previous wars she's been involved in somewhere over the body would help. I can also tell particularly with her lips that she's slightly Angelina Jolie, her lips have that cute centered dimple on them, obviously ther are not as large as her's which I think works well aswell. The outfit so far is looks great, some really nice folds and pleats allover, are you planning on making different outfits or building this up, you could have a knotted shirt over the top on the bikini top and then cargo pants etc with the weaponry and misc items. Either it's really looking nice, and look forward to an update when you get the chance. Cheers CG.

![]() Interesting fact: At no point did I refer to any Angelina Jolie images (a concious decision, given that is most people's starting point) during the making of this. NONE. The reason I mention it is that is that I worked inititally trying to put the features of the original low-poly character onto a realistic human head. Bizarrely it came out looking a lot like Angelina. She really was the perfect choice for that role! hehe. |

yeah good move with the pentathletes, I'd forgotten about them, Denise Lewis is a good choice as you have here. She has a good figure/build so its a good way to go. Also maybe look at women cycle racers they have big thighs, as opposed to the men who are leaner. As for Angelina Jolie I know you havent referenced her...but I beg you, please dont cliche your model with her looks I know shes nice and stuff but...it would just be way too cheesy and well...crap! LOL Cheers Jango |

No! Bad Monte
![]() I like how this one is turning out though It's beyond my level but I think you should perhaps tone down the ribs a bit. She looks like she has ran for 5 years and not had a single meal (exaggerating of course). ![]() |

This model is amazing, masterful! But, I think that Lara was supposed to be sexy not muscular, well, not that a muscular woman cant be sexy, but not my taste.
Thats good you are aiming for your own design and thoughts, but as you are trying to make a character that already exists, changing its design can hurt a bit the aim to be lara, and makes it a more unique character. Do not bother my words, its very good, and you definitely should finish this as it is, I am not telling you to change the design.

Very awesome update.
I do have one crit though. I think the feet are little too short. Even for a women they look a little small to me when you compare them to the hands. |
