thanks Mistry
Suirebit- I'm really new to matte paintings and watching a few tutorials right now, but i'm thinking what to do next to make a 3d model of the buildings or search for buildings simular to my concept and modify them. Also the lighting conditions underwater are hard to replicate, I'm thinking about searching for underwater pictures and use it to project onto a simple 3d cubes city and use this layer to put on my scene, or is that too much work and should i do it a easier way? |

both - 3d and photo. No, just find/do regular ones and color/level correct them to look like underwater

Matte what?

thee - It really doesnt matter if you use a photograph or a 3D image, just as long as you incorporate both well inside your painting. With regards to lighting, in real world athmosphere, the light would be subdued and nearly desaturated. But in your painting it seems that it looks like its near the shore, so you might want to create one light source that will lit up your scene... thats a starting point at least... then you can work more after that....

I like the atmosphere on this. It's somehow a 'dead' environment, though. Have you thought about adding seaweed or something? Might look neat on that cable on the left.
Great job, keep it up!
