Nurms to Nurbs

Hello everybody.

Is there any known way or plug-in to convert a 3ds meshsmooth (nurms subdivision) into NURBS surfaces for later exporting to CAD system via IGES?
A friend of mine uses Maya and he said that Maya can...

Thank you in advance.

I have no idea if there is a plug to do this - you could have a look at scriptspot.com? Also check out righthemisphere's site and 3dexploration? Converts between loads of different file formats.
Another idea would be to convert it to a format maya can read and get your friend to do it?

ta,
jbw.
