Using maya lights in 3DS
hi guys!
I need to export some lights from Maya 08 to 3ds max 08. can 3DS import lights such as Spotlights, directional and ambient light? and to which format should i export them from maya? and i need to render in 3DS max using mental ray, as an addition to my light setup i'd like to use an ambient final gather lighting, but since i'm such a newbie to 3DS, where can i find the equal to Mayas incandesence on materials in 3DS? thanks

Exporting a file from either Maya or Max as an FBX is your best bet for geometry, animation, etc. etc.
Lights on the other hand get messed up sometimes. Why don't you just render in Mental Ray out of Maya? |
