Transparent background

Hi

I have designed a shape(a company symbol) in photoshop to use it as a bitmap in 3DMAX.So I make its backgound transparent because I want only the shape I made.Unfortunatily a white background appear when I add it in 3DMax as a Bitnap material.Could any one help me to find a solution for this problem?

Sounds like you need to create a mask from the alpha of your image.
You can then use this mask in the opacity slot of your material.

May you explain to me what do you mean by alpha of the image and create a mask from it.I know how to add a layer mask in photoshop but I don't know what do you mean by alpha of the image and create mask from it?

The easiest way to understand it is to save an image with white wherever you want it to be opaque and black wherever it's see through - that would act as the mask in the opacity channel, just make sure that the diffuse and opacity maps line up.

There are ways to do it with saving a single image that has opacity/alpha channels, tga/png/etc, but having two separate images I think is easier to control.
