Yeah- that's insane! It's too good to be true. I'm pretty sure I'll get me one of those 3-4 months from now, when the price has settled and all the yet undescovered flaws have been discovered. I have been waiting for this camera for a long time now, so seeing it finally happen is awesome! Oh, and this is also a great place to read up on the details on any Canon gear: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/R...ra-Review.aspx

I'm also wanting to buy my first SLR to learn photography as a hobby, but I'm really stuck on the camera.

I have thought about the Nikon D60, Canon 1000D, and I keep going up in price, over wondering about the 450D (and its twin lense? But the second lense offering no IS stabalation ), but I'm a beginner, wanting to get better, and I have no idea the best way to go, and also, what budget lenses to get that'd possibly do all the ranges I'd need.

The reason I wanted an SLR in the first place was to offer full manual control for learning, and also, for the low amount of noise you get on shots, useful for textures mostly, but also for references, and general photography where I'd want to blow up to full size on the monitor.
I don't think I'd print much.

Maybe someone could help?
