Character Animation: Backyard Bugaboo

hello everyone,

i've been reading the forums here for the past few weeks and enjoy them alot. however, i wanted to have something to show before making my first post.

recently i finished an animated short titled "Backyard Bugaboo". i was trying to apply traditional 2D animation techniques in a 3D environment using simple characters.

you can download it from my website here (23MB quicktime):

for those of you using dial-up, here is a lower-rez version (7MB):

i hope you all enjoy it

Hi,

I like your animation. Good movements. Ok, render is not as good as it could be, but I think you wanted to work the movement.

Also, your characters are animated like toons, as you said. Good work, hope to see more of your works soon.

Now that was really neat. You have a lot of really nice stretch and squash going on in it. Also you've done a pretty good job of expressing weight. I love the whole trailer trash theme...hehehe.

As far as the textures go I think they work but you need to fix your lighting. The shadowed areas are just to large and dense on these characters.
