Max ram for 3dsmax?
Does anybody know what the maximum amount of RAM that 3DSMax 9/2009 64bit versions can support? And Maya please.

more than you can put in any commonly available motherboard
I've personally topped out at just over 4gb used for just having a scene open (ie. not rendering) but there's plenty more |

Bubbaloo is probably right. Let's see...2^32 yielded the 4.294 billion addresses or 4gig limit. 2^64 yields 1.845x10^19 or 18.45 billion billion addresses or about 18 billion gigabytes.
I'm betting that the 3dsMax mem limit is lower than that. It's probably something more reasonable and strange like 24 gigs or something. Either way, you'd have to shell out a lot of money to reach it.

it'll be whatever windows sets the limit per app at i should imagine - thats what happens on 32
