furni - bench - wooden

ok heres a bench

anyway herer tis,

just thought i could get some feedback on my texture work, this is one of my first mapped texture attempts,, game textures are alot easier than materials,.. its for one diffuse and one bump and renderd in brazil with only the skylight

i would tell you the polycount but my version of max just screwed up then, otherwise i would have a much nicer render for you aswell..

great stuff, just one thing, you've made all corners lighter, more worn, but the corners under the bench shouldn't be that worn and the top of it should also be lighter, people have used to sit, right

wow, thanks for all the wonderfull comment everyone

bjotto - the top is slightly lighter than the bottom which is coverd with soot and stuff =P, still could be lighter tho if its not noticable. and ive corrected the lightness of the bottom edjes so they dont look as silly , =P

i will, when i install max again cause it screwed itself up, post the differences between texture res's

i can get away with 256x256 without much of a problem 128 looks very bad, and 512x512 doesnt look much differernt than 1024x1024

so i think ingame this piece would use the 256x256 texture and possibly the 512x512, although just for a bench i feel that to be wastefull use of resources

cheers shift,

whats funny is that max crashed on my pc acuse i deleted all my temp files, which contained my licence files =P

spewing,

so i loaded up lightwave and made the table with that, took me ages to learn the basics,

luckily for me i have 2 pc's here, and when i was done with the basic shape in lightwave i exported it and imported into max finished up the model and textured it,

heres the maps, just cause i know people will appreciate it,

there really simple ones, and the wood is derived from a scan of some balsa wood ;o)
