Watcher Rove (low poly female)
After a forced 2 month severence from my computer I've kind of atrophied in my modeling skills but I'm trying to get back into it. I figured I'd start with a model based on a story I'm messing with.
The basic idea is a post apoc setting where zombies rule the earth. Some people have been infected with a mutated strain of the virus that gives them abilities such as being able to set fire to things and even heal wounds. However it also kills them more quickly, etc etc. . . I digress. Anyway. I'm aiming for about 2k polys w/a gun and a melee weapon and any accessories. The ones on there already are temporary except for the belt thing. I'd -really- appriciate any feedback and thanks for looking! http://img227.imageshack.us/my.php?image=watchertm0.jpg |

Updated with more of the jacket, ,some tweaks to the tail of it and added her primary weapon.
This is all before optimization/tweaking. http://img204.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ovecompjb4.jpg |

did you have an anatomy reference in the back?
because it looks like she has way too long legs (or too short of an upper body :P) only thing i could comment on would be the sleeves, they look too concrete (is that th right word, sry, i'm tired), its not flwing as a sleeve would do! oh, the weapon on her belly is too tiny!

yeah, the legs look too long, she also looks as if she is about to fall forward. Can you post a side view, and when you post it, can you use the image tags. I hate clicking on image shack links, they always give me pop ups.

As far as an anatomy refrence: Not really. Though I've been looking; google isn't quite the search tool it used to be. (or I just suck at it, both are equally plausable!)
I see what you mean about the sleeves. I'll work on it. Thanks ![]() BiG ToE: Sorry about the linking. Here's the side wireframe ![]() Also uploaded incase it doesn't show up. Just woke up so I need some breakfast but I'll be getting back to work on this today. C&C certainly welcome on anything else! Last edited by SirTimberWolf; 21-11-2008 at 02:27 PM.. |

what you need to do is make 2 image planes, one for the front view, one for the side view. Toss a ref image on each and compare your model to it. Set your model to see threw and place it right on top of the ref image, then you will be able to see what needs to be where.
You can use the forum to find great ref images, not saying they are the best but if you want you can use my base model as a starting point. ![]() |

Big Toe:
Thanks for that I made some changes to the model (pictured below) that I thought would be more close to human purportions. I'll keep an eye open to see if anything else can be fixed but as for right now; I need a little nap. Started a night job. Really messin with the bio clock :P I worked on the boots, added a collar to the jacket, tweaked the legs too. Going to alpha map the hair. ![]() ![]() |
