Character Model
I'm starting on a character that is suppose to depict a future where soldiers who have lost appendages in battle are forced back into service with machine based replacements.
here the head has been started. I'm basing it somewhat off of Jet Li. Any comments or critiques would be appreciated along the way. ![]() ![]()

The area around his ear looks a bit off.
From the angle youve given us it looks like theres a massive dip. Which there shouldnt be. Now that I look at your reference picture the nasolabial crease is perhaps too sharp on your model in comparison to Jet Li.
Its still noticeable on Li but not nearly as sharp as you have it on your model.

here is the reference i'm using. He has a younger look here than the above pic. However i do see where i went wrong in the corners of his eye's so i'll work on that next.

New update.
Here's what i have for the body, so far. Unfortunately I don't have any references. I hope u all can share any idea's u might have that will make the model more appealing. As of now I'm planning to add boots and shin guards and more armor for the forearms. C&C are welcomed. ![]() ![]() Here are my lines so far: ![]() ![]() ![]()

Here i've started concepting the character. Just trying to get the basic form for him down. Let me know if something looks off. I think the shin guard and boots could use some more attention.

If your character is based off Jet Li you might want to go for a more far eastern style armour other than the bulky gears of war-generro look.

Your face still looks a bit weird to me (your character's face I mean
) The eyes are very close together and he has a line going on all around his face, probably caused by an edge loop close to the mirroring point.The armor looks really good though. |

A general tip would be to work a bit more low poly right now so you can easier tweak the main shapes and proportions... But now you can use soft select for that pretty easily as well, I recommend you try it out
.I think you can take away a few egdes vertical edgeloops as well around the mirror cut...

Krallis - I'm hoping not to have the character look like GoW. I use to play Warhammer40K so it's probably going to be some similarities there.
NinthJake - I'm going to go back to the head again to do tweaking. try and widen his eye's or see whats making it look like that. just wish my reference was better so i can see the shape his head is making around that area better. ![]() hulahuga - When I plan get the character into zbrush i just want to add age lines and small details, then I'll retopologize the head into a lower polygon mesh.

Here I've been getting the creases and overall shape worked out for the character. I still have a long way to go. I changed the concept sketch a little, but it may not be final.

Getting things shaped up a bit more. The forearms, shoulder guards, and boots still need the most work imo.
