Selling 3DS Max 5
Pretty much, I need to know if it is legal for me to sell a copy of the educational version of Max 5 that I won in a competition...
If yes, can you tell me where I can sell it? If no, can you tell me where I can sell it? |

Have you licenced it with Discreet? If not I think you can.
I know with the commercial version once it's licenced it can't be sold legally! Would have thought the same with the educational version? You're best bet would be to get intouch with Discreet, I know if you contact Newtek and want to flog a licenced copy of Lightwave they send out a form that you fill in to transfer the licence to another person. You never know they may do something similar ta, jbw |

In response to this, I have not registered this copy of Max 5, I only won it two days ago.

Your situation is very similar to one I was in:
My former boss had bought 4 copies of Max 4, but threee months after that the company was severely downsized so that only two licenses would be needed. I proposed to my boss that instead of my last paycheck he'd just register one of the two now not needed copies of max in my name, since he hadn't registered them it worked and it was a win-win situation. Based on this experience I think you might be able to sell it!
