Nice entries so far (don't forget to include the wireframe screenshot) and nice starters too, of course.
![]() If I get an idea I'll probably join in too. Actually I'm just posting now to try out my new signature with the extra advertisement for our pity IRC channel, seems 3D people don't hang around on IRC very often. ![]()

Just to let you guys know, this challenge will go on for 3 weeks instead of 2!
This is because i'd originally had this to end at the end of the year and i'll be too full of alcohol by then to care lol So you've all got till 7th of January 2009! you've technically got till next year to make an entry lol Cheers CG.

hope it's all turns out better than you expected
on another note, i found a way how to export my Autocad2008 models into Maxwell, it's not as easy as i wanted it to be, but if i can get it working it would be awesome |

yeah heres to hoping... lol..
anyway.. great model you've put up the vlado.. great render. not sure why you have so many polys down the main strip of the sledge thing.. (what it slids on)... but great other than that.. zlatovous - you probably need to change the colors on your wireframes as or make the image bigger as it is really hard to see what is goin on in your model...

Nice sled Vlad!
One way you could have avoided bending is to create a box with rounded corners, extrude the edge, run the thicken tool, then delete unneeded polys. Just a "speed" thought. |

yop that's also way to do it... but when I seen the reference I known that it is easy model... so I wasn't in hurry... also I had 90 minutes for it so I was slow on purpose ( also watching CSI episode at the same time xD )

those are some strange methods for doing the curved bit... i mean not knowing modo.. i can't say whether there is a similar feature.. but personnally (and being a max/maya user)... it would have been simpler to just create a box, and a spline and then extrude the end face along the spline.. (adding in bits where needed for smoothing and curved edges.)..
Have added a screen grab of what i did.. it took me five minutes if that to make this..
