Chris Skinner - Medieval Set Extension

Hello chaps! Some good entries already on this one.

Thought I'd have a go and hopefully finish it this time!...

Here's the plate cleaned up and experimenting with a different sky background. I quite like this sky at the moment because it gives you the impression that there is something exciting going on behind those walls.

Guardians of the Gate.

Here's an update. I'm now in two minds about the sky. Still like the way it gives the impression that something is going on behind the walls but feel it might not be interesting enough for the objects on this side of the wall that can be seen.

Any suggestions?

Another quick update. Wasn't sure whether the large knights were working so I've tried a couple of statues.

Not sure this composition works as well as the last. Kind of like the way the details are more prominent in the last post.

you distort the image too much, the idea is to make it less distorted or at least keep it as is, but not make it even more Think this is a movie scene...

I like the statues idea and the last concept colors & mood, keep it up but fix distortion

I agree Suirebit, luckily I saved a version out before distorting. See attached.

definitely better Now, those walls seem a bit flat and the area behind them empty...maybe you can add subtle structures or anything really?

Cheers Suirebit!

Been messing around with some backgrounds and started painting in some rough lighting effects.

Watch out for the seams in the wall texture, looking really good otherwise

I think the glow is a bit too much. Otherwise it looks great. Almost 300-ish in its drab, colorlessness.

Cheers for the comments guys! Yeah the glow is a bit much at the moment and I'll keep an eye on textures repeating.

In a more recent version I've gotten rid of the wall and replaced it with rocks. Need to do some more work on it before I upload another version though.
