First Car Model (Fiat 500)
This is my first attempt at doing a car, which is something I've wanted to do for some time although always found it a bit of a daunting task.
Im using the 3dTotal Fiat 500 Tutorial, and finding it well detailed though ive still managed to make a few mistakes which i intend to clean up before i move on. Not too much done as yet but i'll post progress as it goes to hopefully get some tips or help as to mistakes I've made. |

One thing that really helped me is to learn to move normals for more precise positioning of the verts. I also found , as you are already doing to check my smooth as I'm going along, takes a lot of the guess work out of it...you picked a good shape to start a car with...Good luck.

Hey i've done the same tutorial a while ago and it kidna helped me (never finished it though :P). Just try and finish it. Might be better to get rid of the tri's if you are going to smooth it.
Ive added an image with extra edges u might want to check out. Im pretty new to 3d myself so backup first :P Last edited by multensor; 19-02-2009 at 10:02 AM.. |

Yeah, it's a very well done and detailed tutorial by Mr Karabo
and you are doing a good job yourself. I think he explains later how to get rid a the 5-gon poly on the roof so just keep going.

Cheers lads!
Heres the latest, havent had much time so there isnt a great deal more done to it. I'm starting to see quite a few mistakes now which i'll probably have to re-do in time like the window trims. |
