3D Max coursor question

This is gonna sound like a noobish question, so I apologize brforehand

I was working on my model when all of a suden the XYZ axis turned from blue, green, and red to grey and red and niow I can't select my model with out taking the long way. If anyone knows what I did wrong I'd be eternaly greatfull

Thanks for the reply but how do I undo it? I pressed the Z,X,C,V,A,D and several other buttons and nothing happened.

You should just need to press 'x' again but make sure you have either move, scale or rotate active or you won't see any change.
