DWIV - 3D- Peter_Kasim - Untitled
Hello everybody! Glad to be on board with my entry, this is my first Dominance War and I reckon it's gonna be a good one, judging by the early work I'm seeing here so far from you guys
I haven't settled on a character yet, but I'm definately leaning towards Demon Warlord/Prince. I quite fancy the idea of having a steed to ride, and I've begun throwing together some quick sketches to see what forms and ideas come out Please let me know if you guys reckon any are better than others, C&C is most welcome, and I'll make every effort to return the favour. Good luck to everyone! |

Ooh....love that second last sketch you posted up. The one with the mount I believe. It's a little vague, but it already has some great character to it. I'd keep going on that one.

Thanks pucker, I'm also most happy with that one. Just took at your work btw, some staggeringly beautiful stuff you have there! Really liked your DWIII entry, too - great pose and treatment of the fabric -I'll be interested to see what you do next!
I forgot one other image:

Some nice concepts here. Personally, I like the 5th one or the samurai looking one so far. Some nice sketches for sure. Keep up the good work.

Nice concepts. I personally like number 2 and 4 from the first post. Can't wait to see which one you pick.

we don't know which to choose because they are all well... I have a preference for the last, the clothes are nice but the shoes are removed

Thanks Peter. I hope I can one up my model from last year. Cloth is a really great way to add a lot of dynamic energy to a design, which you seem to be taking good advantage of in some of your concepts.

Yeah, these are some really unique concepts here. Tough to choose really, I like them all to be honest. But I'm really liking #2 and #4 from your first set, as well as the one you forgot. Tho I'm kinda thinking the samurai lookin' dude [#2] might be my favorite.
Excellent start, can't wait to see where you go from here.

Agent-X thanks for the input and kind words, I have a soft spot for the samurai fella too, but I don't think I'll use him on this occasion for reasons I will go into below
Withalboy thanks my man, I think I'm starting to spot a trend here... chris_solo, thank you - you're right, the shoes are a bit naff... I just scribbled out any old thing! puckducker you're right about the potential for fabric to add a great deal of dynanism - I'm going to think of a creative way to capitalize on it Lukavi, Warlock 279, thanks guys - more votes for the scary concepts I see.... Well, I'm crazy about monsters, demons and big scary warrior types, but I think on this occasion I'm actually going to do a U-turn. As much fun as it is to do scary serious stuff, I've decided I'm going to create something more humorous with a touch of cartoony styalization - I know those types of entries aren't necessarily very popular with the judges but I really want to add something unique to my portfolio. My character is gonna be a pixie - a tiny one at that. His steed will look like a big scary monster, but it is actually going to be only a few inches long. The saddle will be an empty sardine tin and I'll create a pedestal with an oversized object to give a sense of scale. The magical artifact for my pixie will be either a kite or the strange hat you see below - whichever one I choose will have the power to control the weather (especially lightning), making him near-invincible despite his diminutive size. Any thoughts would be great!

Obviously it's up to you what you do but to be honest I think the earlier concepts were much stronger than the latest one, though the mount is pretty cool

I too think the top concepts were stronger, but I have to agree with you on doing what you want to do even though it may go against the norm. It will be really cool if all of the items are just everyday items he has used to make his clothes, or the saddle. Like a piece of shoelace that holds the saddle onto the mount.
I'm interested in seeing where this one is heading, so keep at it ![]()
