need help breaking through paper or water

I have a project that I need to do. It's a still image but I need to show a vehicle bursting out of either paper or water or something. I don't know how exactly to do this but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Arlen

You don´t have to look too far, right here in the 3D Total tutorials section there´s a very complete one.

Cutting & Cracking tutorial

The tutorial doesn't cover what it is I need. It talks about cutting, not punching through an object. I thought i saw a tutorial or a discussion about a car that is "peeled" during a drive through the city. I can't seem to find it. Any ideas?

But I think that you could apply the same principles...

Go to http://www.3dtotal.com, go to Free Stuff->Tutorials
Click on the Project Overviews, and it's about the fifth one down.
