Yeshua upon the Tree: a Terrible Beauty, an Immense Paradox - pencil art

I painted this, but I think I like my B&W pencil version better. Without color it seems raw and unprocessed, a better foundation for individual contemplation. But you can see the color painted version at the bottom of my site, following the ideas behind the art. Not into the talk, just skip down to the end to see the art.

Nonetheless its an impressive piece of work. I like how you follow your ideas and I like the way everything seems put in place in a hurry (the cross, the thorn crown). For the skae of argue I might point out the nailing (which might very possible been done through the wrists) and the fact that is know the hands were tied with ropes to sustain the body weight. I think the point was to make the condemned die from dihadration (the vinegar sponge issue), sunstroke and things as such.
Besides all these, a beautiful piece of art. Your paintng doesn't look half as bad as you say but I think it would have looked better if you would have followed a day time setting. The brown eyes would have worked for sure in that case. Keep up the good work and keep up the updates.

Really nice...and this is an interesting point of view, we can almost feel the suffering...
As for the coloured version, it doesn't look bad, at all. It is well coloured, but I agree with Avatar...it would look better in daylight, with a strong sun right above him...that was my first impression when I looked at your picture.
Anyway, this is a must-see! Both thumbs up!
