I'm sorry for my lack of replies and posts lately. In between my family, my friends, my work and Shards of Asgard, I haven't time for anything else and aldo I did checked the thread every day, I haven't had anything interesting to show to you. I've decided to share with you a study on a giant I did for Shards of Asgard. I know the level of detail is huge on this guy but I did had some fun working on him. I hope you'll like him.

Thanks for the input guys.
anamul - everything comes in time with exercize, pacience and study. I'm still learning myself. Use a lot of references but don't forget to use your imagination also. And a thread about brightness and contrast in paintings? I don't know about such a thing. What do you want to know about it? Thanks a lot for your cheer waheed; I'm honored my work is pleasant to an artist like yourself. killer22 the Wraith would be kind of upset for your choice of colors here Blues and greys and maybe dark greens and browns should have been more apropriate. And some very pale yellow for the skulls. Try a bit harder. Make him look scary.I'm glad you like it, jd. There are still some low poly like this to make concept for and finish the acursed storyboard I'm dragging behind me for a while now.

To be truthful I can't critic anything you have, you are an expert, and good one...you would do VERY VERY WELL here in America, maybe you should try that out. ( I can only Critic a few things you draw. i see flaws easily). Like the Man on the horse look at the right leg, it just dont look right, a bone or something is kinda off, unless it's just me...Anyways you are good I'm sure you've heard(read) this alot...but i done typed it already!! May Peace be unto you and your Grilfriend, have some children soon after you marry her(if you haven't already) and keep on beleiveing in God.

Avater-3dt.....for paintings in Photoshop...I use lighter and darker version of the subjects dominant color for lighting and darkness. Sometime I use additional color depending on the surrounding color of the subject that is reflective color to fake global lighting effect on the subject...like light bouncing of from the hair on face...so onso forth....
I use smudge tool ...(Idon't use blur tool at all)...to blend. My questions is this why do they look so blurry?...ALso I use soft edged brush a lot, rarely use hard edged...(with low opacity...12...most of the time..for color...haven't tried different mood(like..color or multiply for coloring with brush) Right now I am painting directly from refference...like trying to paint exactly like the specific image. I am planning to paint something from my Imagination soon. |

~¤Yami¤~X¤ thank you for your input. Aldo I don't live in a wealthy country I wouldn't leave 'tho. That's for two reasons: one would be I like it here. Its exotic and natural and has tones of beauties. The sea is about 4-5 hours drive time from my town; the mountains also. Why leave? Money? They are tools. I get my money just fine working home for 3 years now and my clients are never disspointed. I have my friends and my family around me and life is gentle with me. I don't feel like changing the world, just want to make the world around me better. So I can say I live well here. I do what I like the most, I earn decently doing it, I have friends and family around me at every time, I have fun and beautifull places to go. Why leave?
![]() anamul, theoretically your technique is good. Try to keep away from soft brushes, rather use texture brushes or brushes with soft ends. Don't tweak only the opacity of the brushes, but work also the flow of it. Smudge tool can also be tweaked like a brush does. Every brush tip is available also as smudge brush. So check around. The ideea is to stop thinking your work as 2d. If you can see it 3d, determine the high and the low, you can push and pull your shadows and lights to give you the proper amount of shading to create a 3d look.
