jbsniff, if I would be a company I would hire myself
.I know your 3d work but I didn't know you draw too. The sketches are cute and they will do great for a short animation if you have a script for them. As for my drawings, believe it or not is all depending on my mood. If I'm struck with some great ideea and I'm afraid that if I'll stop I'll loose it I don't stop till is finished. Otherwise I draw 10-15 minutes then I do something else, after an hour or two I draw again for a while and so on. It may take me 2-3 hours or 10, 12 hours per drawing. And now my dream creature. I call them Night Maidens. I cannot give you the feeling I have in my dream seeng those creatures flying above my courtyard, but it was awsome. The colors are made in photoshop, the background is just a picture which, unfortunaly, I don't know the artist. Hey, Daniel, look, I draw in Photoshop with the mouse! Am I crazy or what?! |

do you draw these things from your head? That's the hardest thing for me. I can't really seem to get the perspective right. I can draw anything I see, it's just that damn perspective!!

jbsniff, maybe my problem is that I draw only from my head. I got problems with the perspective also (Mike can testify on that) but its not a thing that is too hard to learn. At least for me. As I said, this is what I've dreamed about one night.
DanielB, to be completly honest with you, I didn't draw this with the mouse, just applied the colors. Here is the original draw that I've scanned and then colored with photoshop. |

Portraits my friend, portraits! All my buddies got their portraits on the wall in their chambers. All you need is some paper, a pencil and the will to do it. And ofcourse a very pacient, forgeving friend that won't mind if his face looks like Igor's hunchback.

would you mind making something like a tutorial ?
Like making another drawing and scanning it's progress all 5 to 50 minutes or whenever you enter a "new stage".(from first 10 lines to concept stage to finished drawing) So we could see how you work, if you use help-lines wich are rubbed out later, or if you draw the overall shape and then go into details step by step or topdown or whatever ![]() I would realy appreciate this... and im sure others would as well. ![]() |

LeoBasil, sorry to give you an answer so late. I do not have the time now to writte a tutorial but, if you are interested, a few weeks ago (maybe months, I don't really know, my time values are really scrued up) I did wrote a tutorial on how to draw a dragon. It's posted at www.eeye.us
If you are interested you can take a look. Borg, great ideea. I'm glad I inspired you to draw again. Good luck with your work. character, thanks. I would but, unfortunaly, the friend that lended me the scanner took it back for some work he has to do. So, for a while, there won't be any posts. But I hope this won't be for a long time. |

Ok, no post for a long, long time. And I'll be missing for a while since I don't have a scanner right now. But I have some characters lurking in my computer that I didn't post here before, and that's for sure. And here goes one:
