Oi, haven't checked your thread for a to long time. You've got some great new drawings. I like the 3 girls
and also the other concepts you've made for getica. This thread is great. But have to say one can see, that also you became better while posting here. ![]() |

Avatar, great work as always. Your drawings are still such an inspiration, i wanna go get some paper and start drawing right now (i probably will) You still manage to keep the uniqueness in each and every one of your characters, you'd think the creativity would run out sometime Out of the 3 girls portrait that you drew, i think the one on the right looks the best. That buff guy with the antlers looks great too, wait they all do, but those are my favorite Keep working, and i hope your creativity and love for drawing never run out |

Wow, that's quite a few messages. Thanks guys!
Thanks Jason for the explanations. It were obviously intended to Daniel but I also learned of your view from it. Maybe you are right. The thing is that I didn't tried to make some ordinary, sexy women, but something more like a nimph, human and not quite. When I draw creatures like this I try to achieve in that character a feeling of unease, like there is something wrong with it but you can't quite point it out. But this time I guess we all got your point. Thanks again ![]() Yes, TheOne, drawing small faces is much harder that drawing big faces. But that's why I use the mechanical pencil: while a pencil needs to be sharpened to keep a thin tip, a mechanical pencil always has a fine tip. zortech, glad to see you here buddy! Yes, I did becomed better while posting here and that due to all the crits. I listened to them all and I sorted them and tried to see the problems both from my perspective and from my critics perspective. Partialy I did it. There still a lot to learn 'tho. Thanks sarN. Well, I guess creativity runs out when you are doing only your job or something like that. But when you draw and you love what you are doing and you're trying to put life in a character... in that case, creativity just runs over and over and it didn't stops even in your dreams. Believe me, I have entire worlds in my head. I'm afraid my life is far to short to allow me to draw them all.

I guess I updates this thread quite rare lately so here is my latest drawing. Centaurs! I got pretty obsessed with them and I'm still trying to get them out of my head so I can draw something else.

Hey great work Avatar. Nevertheless I have to crit your female centaur.
I think the legs are to short and her back is too broad. That doesn't give her a very feminine look. I think longer legs and a smaller and more elegant back would be better. (Anyway I can't really crit this, cos it depends on your own creativity). Keep 'em coming! ![]()

Damn! Nice game concepts
Forest Girl is freaky looking, reminds of the guy from Blade II, have you seen it? I believe his mouth/face opens up like that too. Anyways great drawings![]()

TheOne, you might be right if you are looking just at the she-centaur. But that's why I drawed a he-centaur in there. Comparing the two would give the right amount of feminity to the woman and the right amount of force to the man.
rubberduck, yes, I did saw Blade 2 (long ago) but it was what my client wanted. The other concept (the one with the empty eye sockets) its what I sugested. In the end they liked more that one so that one remained to be included in the game. Ok, here we go; fresh off the drawing board: The Dredd Knight:

Your latest drawing is awesome! How long did it take you? It's simply... great!
![]() Erm, yeah you are right about the centaures, but I'm always keen on sexy female bodies... sometimes I overdo it... maybe. ![]()

Glad I had such a quick respons from you guys
The second drawing took me about eight hours but I didn't worked up streight for eight hours. I took a lot of breaks (my back was hurting like hell and momentarily I don't haveanyone to give me a back rub ) and when I finished it I just scaned it, resized it and... voila!Jason, you are right, the sword has a crooked perspective and no, it wasn't intetionate. Its a mistake I was too lazy to corect. Maybe I will but, to be honest, I like it that way. It adds to the character. Ofcourse you can try to model it. But I tell you, this will be a hand breaker. Good luck! Post a link to your thread, I'm curiouse how you'll handle it.

Damn!
How do you do it man? The Dredd Knight is awesome and lots of detail too. Do you use reference or what? Do you start out with rough outlines? You truely deserve your 5 *'s![]()

Yea, right, the perspective of the sword seems wrong... not pointing towards the viewer... but I like it that way.

fantastic work as always avatar *bows head in respect*
I was woundering... how do you begin with your drawings? that is one area that I find really difficult... do you for instance build up a basic pose using elipses? or prehaps start with a basic skeletal structure... ? so yeah.. any tips on beginning would be greatly appreciated... its somthing I have never really been taught. Thanks... |
