I really like the sense of motion in that wolf-ish animal, though I don't know about the shadow of that chain, why is it there?

oh ! ur use of the colour,
certainly not my cup of tea.i feel they are gaudy.i think its the client's requirement.bcoz i saw some good colour works from u in the recent times.anyway the way u have handled the subjects ,very good.i especially i liked the soldiers in the side way.what type of reference u used to do these?if u have used any ?btw i think the last image is re-posted.but its very scary.why u kept the background thatway? ![]()

OK, guys, answears:
fasth and jdgill, the shadow is there to give the impression the chain is detaching itself from the picture. Like the creature is trying to get out of the drawing. Besides that, there is a feeling of displacement I felt it was needed in there. kamal, yeap, clients choice. But you know, he was right... The pictures look quite right on the cards. This pictures here are RGB. Printing servicies usualy use CMYK system. Different color encoding. I didn't used any references for any of the pictures here. And I kept the background that way for two specific reasons: first, the red background focuses attention on the wolf's head not to mention red its a color associated subconciously with violence. And the second reason was that the image was going to be fairly small (about 5 to 7 centimeters high with 3-4 centimeters wide) and, at that size, colors and shape tend to blend togeder. So its better to keep shapes and color sharp when you're planning a small picture to keep the best amount of detail when resized.

They are cards for an MTG (Magic the Gathering) like game. Its already on the romanian market, got out with two decks (two races) and two "reinforcement" decks. Its card playing strategy.

15 minutes in Photoshop. I call it "Adoloratto" - means "The Griefing Man". I don't usualy do speed paintings but hell, from time to time its nice to do something you don't usualy do. Breaks the monothony.

Wow. you just get better and better with those colors...
I got 3 questions for ya, all of which have probably been answered already in this thread, but here goes: 1. Where and how did you learn how to draw muscles and skeletal structures so good? It seems you've had that understanding for ever since you started this thread. 2. Your values, how fast do you put them in? Usually when i draw I sketch out a rough, loose contour, with some interior detail, then add light values, and darken as I add more detail and study whatever i'm drawing more. I'm thinking of taking on a more hasty, reckless approach and putting the values in hard and fast, so I don't lose interest in my drawing. Any input with that would be much appreciated. 3. When are you going to make a sequential series of images that follow one of your drawings? That's something i'd really like to see. (you prolly have already and i missed it somehow in this thread ... if that's the case, make another! ![]()
