Generic Newcomer Incoming!
When I look at 3D models and art, I see intracate detail. Such detail that tingles the senses.
I see inspirational models that make me imagine the feeling of satisfaction of the artist upon completion of such a work. All of which have lead me into taking a keen interest in learning the ropes. At first I was concerned with what to model first, but I swiftly realised it will probably be far more constructive to just make a generic box and play around with the different commands to see how they work and to work out how to replicate certain effects. Having a background in coding, I know first hand that there is no doubt a "dirty" way of doing something, and a "clean" way of doing something. Making fundamental mistakes at the start of a model would probably make for a lot of complex work, so I guess the "play about" decision is a good 'un. Turning my attention to ZBrush, with my love of detail, its a program that I can imagine falling in love with once I too learn the ropes of it. My question then, would be if it would be more advisable to learn the 3DS Max (I played around between Blender, Maya and 3DS Max and found the latter to be more to my liking) ropes before even considering ZBrush? I really can forsee myself having A LOT of fun with the world of 3D, but with the myriad of things to learn I find the first few steps to be the most important. Sorry for Wall-of-Texting you all . |
