Also, do we know if we need to have a specific background on this one? The 2D contest says you have to include a frame, but I can't see any stipulations in the 3D rules. Is it just supposed to be a gradient / solid colour / textured backdrop?

Update time - here are a few changes I had time for today. Needs more texture and the paws need sorting out, and the pincer things are a bit flat.

jjvd - Welcome to the proceedings mate good start.
Spiderclaw - Yours sure made me smile. Seeee? Only thing is you need to be careful with the textures. The rules state only a single colour. ![]() Polysmooth - Looking slick as always. ![]() Here's my update for the day. I'm worried that I've made this all a bit too cutesy though... ![]() |

the only thing I would worry about are the colors. Maybe a darker grey for tghe doggish looking thing so it fits in better with everything else. That, or lighten everything else up a tad.

Great work from all. @ MonteCristo: Are you using one of the MatCap you posted on cg Chain ? I love the Monte_White Queen material, now I can really see what I'm sculpting.
By the way, I'm glad you posted the link for the Decimation plugin, I was starting to get tired of those memory crashes. Here is an update. I want to make it quick and simple. ![]()

Monte - too cute? Ain't no such thing! As long as there are some nasty little needle teeth waiting when you get too close.
I was planning to grayscale my image and then colourize it? Are we allowed to do that? My Rooch is mostly shades of beige anyway so I'm aiming for something like sepia but lighter. I can redo the paint job on the bowl if I need to but I don't see the point if I can alter the colour postprod? I didn't see anything about it in the rules. To those people still running - congrats on your work so far. It all looks minty fresh. |

Not sure about that. To be honest if you hunt around for some good MatCaps you shouldn't really need to.
![]() BiGToE - I need to know something... Are we able to put multiple angles in our 1 1000x1000 image? Would appreciate if you found out. I think a lot of people would prefer this. |
