Thanks Dave and Gary!:] Gary the strips on the floor are just polygon planes with a solid color applied to them from the texture map.

This render shows some of the detail textures map with painted rivets and patches to break up the empty space

The attention to detail is really good in this model. The black does hide some of the detail though. But as you have not finished yet i will be looking forward to seeing the end result.

Thanks, it's true the black does hide form. I'll be messing with darkening the back ground and bringing out highlights to affect how well the form reads.
