Fox’s The Cleveland Show gets Premiere Date
FOX has set the fall premiere date for its new cartoon animation series The Cleveland Show on September 27 Sunday at 8:30-9PM ET/PT. This will be coupled by the return of The Simpsons (8-8:30 PM) as well as American Dad (9:30-10PM) in order to complete the Animation Domination time table of Fox.
![]() The Cleveland Show is a spin-off of the popular cartoon animation Family Guy. It tells the story of Cleveland Brown, Sr. who is one of Peter Griffin’s neighbors and friends and who owns a delicatessen named “Cleveland’s Deli”. Voiced by Mike Henry, the character’s name comes from the American Football team, the Cleveland Browns. The show is also conceptualized by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. It focuses on the move of Cleveland Brown’s family from Rhode Island to the fictional milieu of Stoolbend, Virginia. It was picked up to a first season consisting of 22 episodes and was then extended to thirteen episodes to bring the total to 35 episodes. Here is the gist of the show as describe by Cleveland’s voice Mike Henry: “Cleveland has kind of had enough in Quahog—he kind of realizes that he wants his own friends, his own sidekicks, his own stories. So he sets out to California to make it in a way that we’ll have to keep a secret until the show starts, and then he ends up somewhere else, which we’ll also keep a secret until the show starts. But he basically goes home—he goes to his hometown in Virginia and rekindles an old high school flame.”
