TITAN Mk3 Broadsword Type
Decided I want to practice some good old hard surface modelling, so I started working on a new iteration of Titan model (from my Titan universe)
Here's what I got several hours into it. I'm very pleased with the results so far (otherwise I wouldn't have showed it ). Next is blocking out the rest of the body.

Very, very great design.
Something is confusing me on the helmet part on both picture... it looks somehow squashed on some places... but again, perhaps I am wrong... maybe it's just the reflection that confuses me. Is this Titan going to be a huge? It looks like a robot at human dimensions. Great work, post wires please. ![]()

TNTxGRAVE: Didn't see Appleseed, but now I searched for Briarios and I like the design.
Might look for the movie.bobi: Hey, it's a bit squashed, because I didn't want it to be too rounded. This one's going to be big, yeah. I'm planning on some small details and texture decals that should help identify his scale. JajeBlade: Thanks, man. keraj: It's just practice, there are some people that blow me out of the water effortlessly. Tank[NL]: Hehe, it was red at first, but it looked too much like a Cylon ( Battlestar Galactica ). Here's an update, and some wires as requested.

That wires are totaly awesome.
If you keep it that simple (and efficient), I think you will got third Titan with great amount of detail, and with less poligons then before. I see that you've abandoned non-meshsmooth modeling, and I think that's a good choise, because you know how to model and control great designed curves of the model. I didn't said it was bothering me, but that it was confusing me, because I wasn't shoore if it's modeled or reflection issue. Once we see this robot in motion and the reflection behaviour, I think it will look good (and not confusing).

bobi: I hope it will look good in the end, but there's definetely going to be more polygons. The Mk2 had about 30k, and this one currently has 160k.
Tuss4: It doesn't bother me too much, but do you have any advice on how I could attenuate it, for perfection's sake?

Tuss: Certainly ^^
himandri: Thanks, but there's still a lot more to do. You could check out http://anaheimmachines.blogspot.com/ for some sweet Gundam references. chris_solo: Cheers! I'm using Mental Ray, as always. I've gotten some hours set aside today, so here's an update. Neck pistons work :P
