Separate objects in MudBox
Okay, I'm up to 4.5 million polys in my Cthulhu model and I'm out of memory. I need to divide one more time to get the detail I'm looking for. The head and arms are 80% done.
Would it be possible to export out my unsculpted sets as separate objs and reattach them in Maya after I'm finished sculpting? Thanks, J Betts |

So, I am trying a little experiment.
I took my model and divided it into head, arms, wings, tail, legs, and body objs. What I'm doing is sculpting the pieces separately to the level I want and then I am importing the pieces one at a time for sculpting at the seams. Then I'll export out the maps one at a time and reassemble in Photoshop. Sound do-able? |
