Brisbane Foyer Scene

Well it's a lobby, not an amazing lobby, but I always like to show my work and have it critiqued. I never enjoy putting image plane people into images, they always turn out just a bit wrong. Oh well, made in Archicad, rendered with Vray, Max for the rest, post in Photoshop.

I agree about the image plane people. I would've left out about half of them. It would have made the place seem empty, but atleast you wouldn't have these guys throwing them off.

Several of the people completely detract from the scene. The scene (architecture and all) would be perfectly acceptable on its own. Very believable and realistic. But the people are dragging it way down.

On a further note, it'd be nice if there was a little more going on in this scene, architecturally. For instance, maybe posters or magazines? some litter even? a garbage can? ashtray?

One of the most commonly ignored things in images like these, is that everything is so damn clean. This is a place where presumably hundreds of people visit every day. And yet the floors are spotless. I'd like to know who does their janitorial work

Looks excellent though. Lighting is exemplary

SnappedStrings, thanks for the comments. Maybe I should have explained this is an Arch Viz job, doubt the client would like having rubbish and ashtrays in his foyer. Agree with the people, again this is client specification with the amount of people. They obviously want a lively, busy lobby, this impresses upon the possible tennents that they would get a lot of traffic and exposure. As with most Arch Viz work, a lot is asked of by the clients that we may not agree with, but sometimes it just comes down to who is paying the bills!!

Ahh, I see, well then maybe you can apply some of these comments to future personal work.

I know what's wrong with the people...they arn't bogan numbnuts, so I don't believe this will ever exist in brisbane lol.

On a real note: 2 things that distract me, the outside sun light on the pillars bother me, they look off (im guessing post work in photoshop?), possibly a bit of volumetric lighting might give it a touch of realism.

The blue lights near the elevators are just strange the way they do a cross like shot of intensity and being so close to the wall it looks like a mistake, but the I could just be nit picking.

Apart from those not to bad.

Looking pretty cool, a thing that really bothers me is that all this people dont have shadows. And the rectangle bright light hits them looking pretty weird.
But a part from that its looking real nice.
I did a quick little something on it, I hope you dont mind, added shadows on 3 guys, but they should all have one, aswell, got rid of the with light on the 2 guys at the back and added a leg at the guy at the back that was missing one. Aswell I have brithen up a tiny bit the whole image, and by the way i m not sure if the shadows are going in the right direction : )

Good job

Sip, has brisbane gotten that bad, haven't been up there for a while, maybe I should have put a few cans of XXXX on the tables? That is sun from the render, it's just the outside structures work to create those patterns. The blue lights do that cross like shot, due to the top railing being a stainless steel, so it's just a reflection really, I'm neither here nor there as the whether i like it or not. Bob Marley, shadows, yes, I tried them with shadows, but it just didn't look right, but hey, not the first time I've been wrong!! Thanks for viewing guys!!

Well to me it has, to many idiots, crap local gov and lack of job opportunities (because of all the people who migrated to Brisbane during the boom). I rather go live in Melbourne or Sydney (if i was paid enough).

lol XXXX and you need 1 guy whos got a fat gut, thongs (flip flops for you Americans), high shorts and a singlet...might want to add stink lines as well .
