MAYA: animating a dashed line

Hi,

i want to animate a dashed line that goes from one end of a curve to the other. its must not be present at the begginng of the animation, and it must reveal its self as it goes on the path.

i hope that this is clear,

there is exactly what i want to do. 16 seconds into the reel

any ideas?

create a curve-> create cube-> attach to motion path-> go to animation-> animate ->create animation snapshot(options->timeline)->it create a lot of cubes along curve called transform(numer)_(1,2,3,4etc)-> now create a little mel script and you're done

and if you don't like mel you could always keep the cubes->polygons->combine->mirror cut->in the outliner delete the mirrorcutmesh->animate the mirrorcut plane
