DarkBoost - Goofy Gun
Working with Low-Poly and a Limit is something very new to me but something I would like to familiarize myself with and thought that this would be a great place to start.
Here are the first looks of a very crude sketch I made (drawing is not one my strengths), it is a futuristic style plasma gun which its shooting method and choice of ammo can be programmed by the LCD display and fired by a simple button at the handle grip. I aim to color it white/black/blue scheme and have HL2 Portal style feel to it. |

This is pretty much my first time unwrapping one of my models, was not as intimidating as I had made it out to be

Looking good. I think your wasting a lot of space on your map, and with only a 512 map allowed, you need to use all the space available.

Nikwing: good question... this multipurpose weapon was designed using but not limited to advanced plasma technology and using microfusion cell ammunition installed by removing the circular ammunition cradle. Included is laser technology using energy cells, also installed in the ammunition cradle. The built-in computer controlled by a 5inch touch screen allows the user to select either Plasma or Laser feature and its rate of fire with a simple touch of a preset. With the automated targeting software the user can easily lock into the desired target as well as track their own location with the built-in GPS. With very minimal moving parts the weapon is very light-weight even when fully loaded, an average of 4.5 pounds (2.0kgs). Additional attachments are a headset which the user may wear and control the built-in computer by voice activation.

Umm I'm sorta missing the trigger/grip part of the weapon.
Other than that it's not really a weapon I'd like to stand at the front end off . One barrel would be enough to get me running ![]() |

Bananaman: The handle grip extends from the display to the back of the weapon where the trigger is also associated and made out of a metallic mesh style for enhanced gripping. I had the idea that the trigger would function similar to alot of exotic sports cars example Ferrari with the push button start.
The user would hold the weapon almost at hip level using the computer display to aim at the target, the advantage of this is that the screen is capable of a range of displays to compensate the conditions example: night-vision, rain, fog etc. Last edited by DarkBoost; 14-09-2009 at 11:19 AM.. |
