3DS MAX 8- Problem with extrude
I have been working with extruding for a while now and have never had this problem so hopefully its something that I just missed.
I am creating a face using planer modeling, well this morning I start working on it and when I extrude the edge it adds another vertex to the original edge (on both corners) it almost looks like it is trying to chamfer the edge also, it is making it a huge pain because now I have to go in and weld all the extra verticies so I don't have any overlapping topology. Any help would be much appreciated. |

Wait, whut?

Instead of pushing the extrude button, just select the edge you want to extrude, hold down -SHIFT- on the keyboard and then move the edge
![]() It also works with scale and rotate ![]() |

I ended up having to hit the extrude button once then use the shift and it worked great thanks! just a little confused why it is freaking out when I actually hit the extrude button.
