Wires of human male for refrence...

Hello folks,

Can anybody post up, or provide links to, some wire frame images of a male human body.

I'm doing some tweaking to my male character and could use some guidance as to how I should form the muscle flow. I did mine without any guide images, and don't think I could get much further as far as realism is concerned, without something to refer to.


BTW my character was made using the box modeling technique and meshsmooth. And I'm a newbie (just so you don't blow me away with the advanced stuff most of you are used to )

I'm afraid I can't post up any wires, but you might consider posting your work in the WIP forum. If you state you want a little help with muscle flow etc. I'm sure a few of us can help you out. Alternatively you could head over to www.fineart.sk - I'm sure they've got some full body pics of muscle layout which you could use to refine/adjust your model.

I kind of 'collect' wireframes - i.e. I have a folder on my HD for insprirational images & under that I have a folder for wireframes of cool models with clean wires/edgeloop layouts to refer to. It's a pretty good idea to have something similar for images & wires etc. Anyway I collected the decent ones together & put them in a zip file on my site. These are all images I've found on the web, so please don't use them for anything except reference. All copyright goes to the original creators.
As long as no one abuses this I'll keep it up for download & maybe think about getting a reference image archive of some sort up. If anyone is interested, I'll create a similar zip file for female wires.

LOL Mike, you have just made my day

I too have an 'assets' folder where I store textures, plugins, and concept art for reference and inspiration, so far all I have are a couple of images on some oriental clothing; so your assets are going to be a huge help.

(Underline "reference" I create all my own stuff from scratch; I only use the concept art to compare my work to... I just can't take pride in something, knowing that it isn't my own.)

Thanks for the suggestion and the link jbw. I'm giving my character a major overhaul, starting with the face. I was puttering around the WIP section, and thanks to all the artists who posted their work; I was able to put a finger on all the major flaws that have eluded me... so now I'm fixing them. Once I get all the obvious work done I'll post some wires so you pros can point out the details I didn't spot. No need to waste any of our time with things like "oh the face is too flat" and stuff like that.

Thanks again man, I'll have to download the female folder tomorrow morning, 'cause my Internet connection is very slow. I just looked through the images in the men's wires folder, and found some references very useful
