A New Challenge, woohooo! (bit late to the party).
After having gone through a ton of different creatures I've set my mind on making an ape type creature and would love to make none other than the amazing Sun Wukong: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Wukong After I started I found out I accidently clicked on "japanese" and was forwarded to the legendary creatures from japan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...s_from_Japan#S So my question is: does Sun Wukong qualify as a creature of legend? |

Here is my entry. I have about 4 hours into it so far including time for the base mesh created with zspheres. I still have a ways to go but I thought I would should some progress and get some input.
On a side note I wasn't able to get cam studio working before I started sculpting but I am not incredibly worried about getting into the top 3.

A something
Well. Here goes my start. I probably wont have time to finish with Thanksgiving and all...but we'll see.
I have no idea what it is. I was going to do a chimera, but I nixed that idea. He will probably end up as a vampire or something of the sort. 30min or messing around so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH1QuYnu0WM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EpQpca3-1Q

Question about Posing
Hey just to be clear about the posing being timed also with the 10 hours dose that include the rigging process becuase rule 6 says no rigging.
6. No rendering, texturing, lighting or rigging let's keep it all about the high-res sculpt! What we are looking for is the quality of the sculpt you can produce. If your entry is not complete, you can still post as long as it's recognizable and on topic. I haven't been able to find where it talks about posing the character in the rule yet either I'm not sure if maybe its on a different article or if I'm miss reading something. Thanks for the help, |

You can pose your character in zbrush without rigging it. It's a part of sculpting process.

steban - as for my self, to sculpt i learned in school and by messing with zbrush, to model i learned in univercitie. but to work with 3d's-max i learned by my self because we were working with cad aplications. and ofcourse lots and lots of hard work . others are learning in coleges, schools where they teach various artists. try the allmighty google. you'll find lots of information about this
