Papageno The Bird Catcher
"Papageno" from The Magic Flute by Mozart.
The man who catches the birds. ![]() This is a 3D/2D illustration. I've been inspired by the old master painting and especialy Caravaggio. My main focus was the texture and the environment. It took 1 month, with concept, and referencing. I've worked a lot between Maya and Zbrush, textured in Mudbox and pushing the illustration details in photoshop. I did the mattepaint and finalising in Photoshop. High Definiton (3500*1677) and the different steps (3Dpass/occ/maya) Here http://www.vdhalexis.com/papageno.html Last edited by Lynette-3dt; 26-11-2009 at 03:34 PM.. |

You have been one of my favorite artists for a long time. Before, it was because of your vision. Now, your skill seems to have caught up, and this particular piece is just awesome. 5*s from me.
If I had to crit, it would be that he looks like Lady Gaga. |

My respects to you! Very inspiring and outstanding piece!
Maybe in the near future, could you show a break down of your scene? like what's 3d and what's 2d? At 1st i thoughtit was all 2d. Really love the entire final result. About gaga... she is not THAT fuggly....maybe that' y she wears the huge glasses..ive never really seen her face till now. Maybe thats y she wears the huge glasses.
