Had a nice four day weekend so I spent some quality time catching up on some movies
Iron Man 2 - really enjoyed it. Different pacing to the first one with more on the characters which was good Sherlock Holmes - pretty entertaining Legion - laughably bad How to train your Dragon - really good fun. Loved it Clash of the Titans - they forgot to make the movie fun to watch. Not bad but not very memorable Avatar - meh. It was ok From Paris with Love - tried a little bit too hard but quite entertaining I also finally watched the series Generation Kill. Really well done and worth watching if you haven't seen it yet

Hm. I watched Planet Terror the other day. During the movie I had really mixed up feelings about the movie, but afterwards I just felt disappointed. I liked Death Proof a whole lot more, and in my opinion, being an ode to the original Grindhouse movies, I don't think this film came even close to movies as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Night of the Living Death movies.

Kick-Ass was pretty cool, but it might have been over-hyped, in my opinion. Some silly plot holes like how they treated the night-vision and Nick Cage totally annoyed me.

has anyone seen the show "spartacus - blood and sand"? the cg is really terrible, but the halfway decent storyline + the gore and sex scenes made it a quit good show. first season is over, and as i can say - that season finale was really pleasing

The Pacific on the other hand was awesome. Not as good as Band of Brothers I guess, but still a really great miniseries.

The Pacific was not remotely close to the sheer and heart wrenching awesomeness of Band of Brothers, but had some good moments.
It had titties too.

We did go see Iron Man 2 last night. It didn't disappoint. Iron Man is probably my favorite movie series based on comic books just because it's not cheesy. I liked Watchmen, but Iron Man appeals to my personality more.

About Sparticus: My wife and I watch the show, and to be honest, I really enjoy it, although it has its flaws. |

Now if only I could enjoy my Saving Private Ryan blu ray disc. The bustard apparently has some audio problems,or at least that's what Amazon customer support told me,so now I have to wait for them to send some "special" envelope so I could exchange the damn thing. Was so looking forward to watching it last weekend :/ At least King Kong blu ray worked... Damn, some of the moments were so ugly in high def. Like, really really bad (i'm talking about CG). But Kong himself is just amazing. The dinosaurs fight scene and the last part of the movie were crazy good.

the last part of the millenium trilogy - what a nice ending. the 1st movie was the most thrilling one, but all in all - good story.
