SMC M#02 - rocneasta - Devil's Chariot - Concept 01
Just posting WIP after 15 min, still going to my piece of paper trying to see how and where to apply details and how i will go about general shapes
all concepts over the internet look basically the same, bones, skull, pointy things , but this is what i got after 15 min. Chariot was just surface modeled, edge extrude + ts + shell, and the branches were cylinder - poly - ts |

just manage to model after coming home from work
I'm on 120 min total - still an hour for numerous spikes details etc, just don't know when and where... need to draw some sketches ![]() i'll post clay renders as soon as they are finished so you can C&C p.s. the model might seem jagged, it's purely because no smooth has been applied Last edited by rocneasta; 08-12-2009 at 04:17 PM.. wanted to make a ultra quick smc type of a scary skull - so i don't waste much time on it and still get the desired effect :P well let me tell you i need more practice since in 4 min i got an ugly smiling skull - not the type i wanted
back to the drawing board 4 min FAIL Last edited by rocneasta; 08-12-2009 at 10:36 PM.. Reason: adding bold and in red - word - FAIL |

10 min more for the fence and the bend modifier for spikes... getting late and my bursts of ideas are sporadic, need to get some shut eye... in the meantime i did do a few clay renders with some foliage in max, not too bad, missing fov and all sorts of things but gives me ideas for beauty render if my laptoptop can handle that pressure and i know he can't... may the brainstorming commence...

Cool, I like the ripped flag, it's a great element. The fence is also nice, if I was you I'd use the time left for working on the main body instead of adding trees, because right now it is rather simple.

trees are just choose point where you want to place em, wanted to get the feel of things - concerning the body i've spent 5 min on adding some noise, and it's an improvement - have no idea how to improve it without going deeper into mesh itself, so the quick wear and tear would do just fine...
still thinking about details i could add to it or to the scene |

i've added a scythe - 10 min, simple model, and if i don't come up with something to add to the chariot, i might end up making a few tombstones just to use my remaining 10 min.
p.s.i tried to push another skull in the game did it in 25 min, 5 over the time i had left but it looks mediocre so unless i come up with a solution in less time that looks scary and good, i'm abandoning skulls atm Last edited by rocneasta; 10-12-2009 at 12:40 AM.. |

Death uses scythe. Devil uses pitchfork
And as you cant have slaughter without laughter, you cant have grim skul. It will always smile. Unless its cartoon skull. Cartoon skulls can do anything. |

cool observation JAPO, pitchfork it is, although in the visual form i don't fancy it tbh. might be considering another element but tnx for the input.
