Gaming Engines
New to the gaming industry.
I am curious to what gaming engines are there, and are available for download/purchase.. etc.. I know of the Unreal Engine and GMAX, but is this enought to rock out? I am thinking of modding out a game, but wasnt sure if I used the UNreal ed if I would be limited to that type of game play. I love the interactivity that say "Battlefield 1942" provides, but not sure of what engine they use to build such a thing. Any links and advice is greatly appreciated. - wes |

Well I'm by no means an experd. But I have heard that the HL2 engine was created in part geared to modders. You might consider waiting for HL 2 (end september, they say), or at least you could read up on it.
