Tank[3D] - Army of One - Jake
Hey all. after spending some time thinking of a concept, i made a few sketches and finally did this rough concept in PS.
I really want to get to work on this guy. if only for my own sanity ![]() This guy is pretty much how i envision myself some time after the apocalypse. losing everyone, no hope for the future, etc. cant wait to get started

that scar look like it hurt to get.I like your initial idea from the concept.
you might find that it helps to get a more defined volum of the skul, if you bring the model down some divisions and move the whole main shapes around.while thinking about the underlying anatomy. check some reff that might help. like the first one in this example has alot of planes, but still simple shapes, representing the volum and angles that are important. http://www.learning-to-see.co.uk/ima...mis-planes.jpg http://leipi.com/images/misc/asaro.jpg you can see it somewhat here , and by looking at more refference, the shape of the skull: http://www.drawninblack.com/wp-conte...ck_plate01.jpg then the muscle parts over the scull change the volume aswell. http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/micro-muscle.jpg an in the end with skin overlaying everything. http://media1.break.com/dnet/media/2...-beer-face.jpg sorry.. i mean here you can see the wrincles and stuff usualy common, that get more pronounced the older you get: http://gruggersway.today.com/files/2...t-eastwood.jpg hope it helps.and check more reference, it will always improve your skills. keep up the good work! I like the detail you've put into the face, however I think some of the proportions need tweaking, such as the length of the nose and perhaps the overall shape of the face as it looks quite square at the moment. Good start though

thnx, glad you like it so far. im fixing the nose as we speak, i noticed that aswell. i actually want his face to be a bit on the square side. round faces suggest "well fed" or atleast a relatively steady supply of food.
no such luck for him tho, it is after all the apocalypse ^^ i'll look into it, never the less tho.

The folds in the trousers look very lumpy, i.e you should start again (no offence), don't rush
. The folds on the shirt are good, I like the asymmetry! The folds on the Jacket are very thin and numerous, I think they should be large and flowing as you'd expect a Jacket to be thick and heavy. The face is still looking a bit square, I understand the malnutrition side of things but I think you should align it with a reference image of a human skull to see how off it is . Other than that its shaping up (y)
