My rent was due, and the guy called about two hours earlier than we had established the previous day.
So here I am, in my underwear at home. Everything is a disaster, clothes, food, dust, like after a tornado. The guy calls: Him: "Hey, how are you?" Me: "Umm... good." Him: "Where are you?" Me: "Um... at a friend's place. What's up?" Him: "I'm in front of the building. When can you get here?" Me: (fuuuuuu*k!!!!!) "Umm... at five o'clock, like I said yesterday." Him: "Can't you come sooner?" Me: (shiiiiiiiit) "Ok. I'll be there in about 40 minutes, then." Him: "Fine. I'll wait for you here." Me: (NUCLEAR EXPLOSION) "Hahah, perfect. See you then." ------- I was rushing through the apartment, one hand pulling pants on, one hand cleaning up the place, while shooting out every swear word I know. Worst past is he's in front of the freakin' building, so I can't just get out of the building, cause then he'll know I was home. Crap crap crap. But he can't actually enter the building, cause he doesn't have a key to the intercom. And it's cold outside, so he's probably in his car. He won't wait 40 minutes outside of the door in the cold. Would he? Crap crap crap. 30 minutes pass, and I plan to go out and sneak a peak to see if he's in front of the building. I had to do something. I grab a grocery bag and stick some stuff in it, like I was coming home from somewhere, lol. He's not in front of the building, so I dash out the door, stay in the cold for a couple of minutes to get cool and then proceed to find him in his car around the corner. Man, that sucked. I hate it when people call earlier than scheduled. ![]()

Would've been awkward as hell if he were in front of the building, or even if he had parked in front of the building.

This month was bad again. He keeps calling me at 9 AM in the morning to ask if I'm ready to pay the rent. I go to sleep around 3-4 AM, so 9 AM is awful for me. Once I'm awake, I can't get back to sleep. I gently suggested that he could call me at a different time than 9. Result? He called me around 7:30 AM on rent day. What a productive, energetic and healthy day that was for me. My work for the day was limited to placing a pink Plane in the scene I was working on.

yes missus i can fix it - spending an hour on figuring out how to disassemble it, pint point the problem, fix the problem, assemble it back up and test (yes it did produce smoke with a rubbery scent), and i opened it up again and fixed the issue ![]() |

Took a new job 1500 miles from where I lived. They gave me two and a half days to leave my apartment, pack up and move. My car is 47, and smokes like chernobyl. Made it about half way before it starts to stutter and dies on the side of the road in the Alberta badlands. (Think Fallout but bleaker.) Spent two hours on the side of the road rebuilding my carburetor, which doesn't work. Ended up hitching a ride to the nearest city. (30miles.) Walked ten miles trying to find a mechanic or truck rental.
Ended up getting a 300.00 tow, and had to spend three days at a hotel waiting for the Monday when the mechanic opened. (delaying work start.) Ended up being a loose wire to the coil, and another 150.00. After that I managed to limp all the way to Manitoba, where things improved. Not the best roadtrip ever.
