Yes I'm really sorry you are quite right, I will put you through to the panel judging instead of claw.

Many apologies under a bit of pressure at the moment.

So the top 5 are;

andreasrocha
bbb
eyecon
jaredr

TheSaraf

boooo! My hopes and dreams dash at the last moment. Seems a little unfair that I don't go through to the judging because some people who voted for me had under 50 post when andreasrocha posted his artwork after the deadline and still gets included. Surly the rules must be consistent for all participants. (nothing personal against andreasrocha, his work is very good a deserves to be seen by the judges) but if its about technicalities then i feel i have to bring this up. I don't think anyone should be removed but maybe a top 6 as seen as the circumstances.

Thanks

Sorry Tom I wasn't trying to get myself a free t-shirt. More I was hoping that 6 could go through to the panel judging instead of 5, as critical feed back is what i would most be after. The question is why are the rules enforced on me and not on andreasrocha? or, why are the rules bent for andreasrocha and not bent for me? The latter being my preferred outcome. If the rules are enforced then I make the final and not andreasrocha or if the rules are bent (i.e all the votes counted, as originally happened) then I make the final and not TheSaraf. In both cases i make the final judging. Its only if individual rules are picked to enforce and ignore that I miss out. Which seems unfair. So Tom why are some rules enforced and not others?

Thanks

Andreasrocha & Thesaraf nothing personal and I hope no hard feelings. as I said I would have hoped that all six could have gone through. Good Luck to both of you.

the fact that you are not included with the finalists does not at all have to to with bending the rules. It was probably just a simple mistake. None of the people who did not qualify for voting were counted with the final votes. The numbers are there. And seeing as there are only 9 entries, over half of them have already made it to finals.
On the other hand, it does seem like several rules were changed, including the deadline, and the total number of finalists, which did not have a major impact. But in defense of andreasrocha, the final entry thread was not mentioned in the matte painting forum, and the quality of his work stands out in this contest. In defense of the integrity of the contest, he did clearly post after the deadline, which would put Claw in the finals.

I don't see a big problem here or direct violation.

Andreas posted his final work in his thread in 06:49 PM 31-12-2009. So, there is a big difference between "can't be in time" and "forget to post in right thread".

Claw, don't forget it just a forum challenge You have a good chance to win in this month.

Hey Akim I understand totally that it was probably just a mistake it wasn't posted in the final thread and I don't think for one minute that it shouldn't be in the final judging. My point is why should his mistake impact me when I followed all rules 100%. The deadline was the 31 and then moved to the 3rd, the same for every one. Why are the winners not the people who got the most votes and followed all the rules plus special dispensation for andreasrocha because although he missed the dead line, it was a very good piece of work that a lot of people voted for. This seems a more sporting solution than removing people who met all the criteria for people who didn't. It can't be much harder to order 1-6 than it is 1-5. anyway i will get off my soapbox now, stop ranting and promise not to say another word about it in these threads!

Good luck to everyone who did make it to the final.

stay frosty!

This place is exciting!

Been gone for weeks since I was busy... good luck guys! Whoever wins my hats off to you.

Although on a special note... the stuff we do here for this particular challenge is not Mattepainting, more like concept work
