SMC M#03 - czacen - Krait
Hi guys! I think i have an idea of what I want to do this SMC. I'm a bit lazy to draw it down this time so I will just have to keep you guys in suspense
. Here's a quick render of the wheel at 27mins. |

Hi everyone. It's been a bit hectic over the last week with work but I finally got a chance to flesh out the shape I had in mind. Still have to build the connectors, weapons and do a little more detailing. Looks like it might be a little tight on the time but most of it is duplication so it should be okay. All feedback is welcome

I really like where this is going, nice modeling.
Are the connectors going to be solid joints or a soft connection (like bellows connectors)? |

Hi everyone,
Added the connector and tested out a few turrets. I was lazy and decided to make them out of the wheels to save time. The smaller ones look okay, but I will be removing the larger ones to be replaced with Anti-Air and Long range Artillery. Also still have to add all the last min details. All feedback/Crits are welcome. @noyb: Thanks noyb. I was thinking of making the connectors like one of them accordion like connectors we see on buses and stuff. I've added to the wip below. It was very easy to make and took hardly any time. @Rachel vd M: Thanks Rachel, I use XSI to model and Hypershot to render. Ill post a wire below so you can see the meshflow. |

i really like the style nd the design of your vehicle czacen. The red wheels really bring a more meaner look to it. Can't w8 to see the final details on it!

Hi rocneasta. Thanks bro, I've replaced the gray tires with red ones and I must say I am liking them more
. Are you gonna be joining the fun in this SMC?Replaced the guns with one SAM. Took 12 mins for the SAM. I might skip the next turret for now, finish the detailing and then see what I can do at the end. Last edited by czacen; 15-01-2010 at 04:52 AM.. |

Awesome model Czazen, one of my favs. When kid, I had a remote controled vehicle very similar to that.
Only "crit" would be that, if you have the time I would try to correctly join that some meshes for the model to be more "correct" and have some nice chamfering in those edges. But if not, there is no big deal. Have you thought of making a camouflage pattern? It would be nice if you combine that with the "batmovile" look that it already has. |

@Avishek: Thanks bro. Haven't seen you on the threads much last month, are you going to be taking part in this SMC?
@Rachel vd M: Thanks Rachel, the railgun is an excellent idea. Im gonna give it a shot. Pun intended ![]() @pables: Hey bro where have you been on this SMC? Was hoping to see some cool stuff from you this time too. Thanks for the feedback, you are right about some of the edges needing to be cleaned up on the intersections, but sadly I don't think I will be able to get to them in the little time remaining. @berendey: Thanks Berendey! Though Unimog is sure giving me a run for my money. ![]() Hi everyone. Almost done and almost out of time too. Only 20 mins and a railgun remains to be built. If not I will just have to make do with reusing one of the smaller turrets again. Added details mostly with duplication of one of the pieces from the wheels. Did some tidying up on the missile launcher and the front grills etc. posed it quickly to showcase the accordion effect. Will prolly go with a diff camera and stuff for the final render. C&C always welcome. Last edited by czacen; 15-01-2010 at 08:14 PM.. |
